Guardians of the Forest Mini-Golf: a bespoke project for Le Grand Défi

At SPS Filets, we have one mission: to design original, immersive play areas that blend perfectly into their surroundings. We're proud to present our very latest project at Le Grand Défi, in Vendée: the Guardians of the Forest Mini-Golf, a fully bespoke 18-hole course that turns a simple round of mini-golf into a true journey into the heart of nature.

A unique themed course, imagined as an initiatory journey

Forget everything you know about mini-golf. There's no artificial scenery laid over tarmac here: the forest itself becomes the playground. Across 29 hectares of Vendée wilderness, our teams designed an 18-hole course conceived as an initiatory journey, where every challenge has its own atmosphere, setting and puzzle. Narrow channels, clever obstacles, sharp bends: each hole was designed to surprise players and push them to outdo themselves.

18 holes, 18 guardians to meet

To bring this concept to life, we lined the course with 18 carved totems: animals and plants of the Vendée forest, each one the guardian of a challenge. The cunning wanderer, the night watcher, the keeper of autumn treasures, the sweetness of the orchards, the heart of the mountains… so many carefully crafted characters watching over their hole and daring visitors to take them on. An immersive scenography that gives this project its unique character.

An educational dimension: wildlife and plant life in the spotlight

Beyond the game, this project blends fun and education. All along the course, educational signs invite visitors to discover the local wildlife and plant life: which animals roam the Vendée forest, and which trees and plants surround them. A wonderful way to reconnect young and old with nature.
